This assignment required me to create a book cover for a collection of short stories by one author. I wanted to take the content of the story and create a visual of it. I took the perfect cup of tea and turned it on its head showing the imperfection of tea through the dispersal of tea leaves.
This cooking app came from the idea of creating a mobile app that I would find useful in my everyday life. The app is meant to make cooking easier for the amateur cook like myself. Simmer helps keep track of all your favorite recipes, share them with friends, and assists in the cooking and planning processes.
This project’s main goal was to create a series of frames that would set the tone for the television show to follow. In keeping with the show “The Office,” I wanted to go with their lighthearted theme by creating a story through a flip book as if an employee created it in the workplace.
This project required me to create a type driven invitation for an annual gala fundraiser for a nonprofit organization. I created a cute, interactive design for the Oregon Humane Society that was in keeping with their organization in the hopes of getting guests excited to attend.
Nomad magazine is a digital and print publication where each issue highlights different National Parks around the world. The magazine features bold abstract photography of the park to create a different perspective on what makes each individual park so unique.
One of my favorite things to do is go on road trips and experience new places. I wanted to create something to help make the experience a little more smooth. This app concept is meant to not only make navigating easier, it helps friends stay connected and up to date while turning your travels into digital stories.
Sharp End is a product built from an idea and a passion, to simplify and modernize the classic pencil box. I handcrafted and designed the pencil box and created branding around it. Sharp End is a pencil box and sharpener meant to hold the tools that help ignite creativity.
For this project I was given instruction to design the branding for a made up location. I have always had a love for outer space, so I took this opportunity to create museum about it. I produced the branding for a faux observatory and museum that reflected the wonders of space.
After documenting and examining what I ate over a week period, I was to create a way to display this data using four levels of information. My design tells a story of what I was doing and with whom I ate or drank, giving insight into the affects of atmosphere on eating habits.
Crumb Cakes is an concept for a small bakery that specializes in making delicious cakes and cupcakes. I wanted the bakery to be a very playful and friendly storefront that is very customer driven. The branding is meant to give off a fun, yet sophisticated feel to the bakery.
Survivor is digital survival guide for hikers and backpackers, or anyone interested in the outdoors. Its interface allows the user to track their location, identify who and what is in their surroundings, gives step by step survival instructions, and alerts them of any possible dangers.
For one week I cooked and documented 18 different recipes. I am always looking for ways to stretch a dollar so I wanted to see how I was using ingredients. To do this, I created illustrations of each component of the recipes to visualize how ingredients were reused to make completely different dishes.
